Founder

Colin Rosnes Sensei began his training in Chito Ryu Karate at the age of 21. He trained at the Moose Jaw Karate Club under the guidance of Delmer Daignault Sensei. For 6 years, Rosnes Sensei acted in the capacity of instructor for both the youth and adult classes and was involved in the training and grading of students.

In 1994, Rosnes Sensei was awarded his Shodan (1st Degree Black Belt) by the late David Akutagawa Sensei. In 2013, he was promoted to Nidan (2nd degree black belt) by Shihan John Grad Sensei. He also received his Junshidoan at this time (first level teaching certificate).  Rosnes Sensei has participated in many provincial and world tournaments and has trained at the Sohonbu dojo in Kumamoto, Japan. He also holds his Level 1 coaching certification under the National Coaching Certification Program.

Rosnes Sensei, along with his wife, opened the Five Hills Chito Ryu Karate Club.  in February of 2009 and continues his training under the guidance of Shihan John Grad Sensei.

Nancy Rosnes

Founder

Nancy Rosnes became involved in karate when she and a friend were looking for a way to get some exercise. Nancy joined the Moose Jaw Karate Club in 1993 and began training in Chito Ryu Karate under Delmer Daignault Sensei. She enjoyed her training very much and received an unexpected bonus when she met Colin. They were married several years later.

Colin and Nancy opened the Five Hills Chito Ryu Karate Club in February 2009. Nancy assists Colin with the training and teaching as well as handles the administrative end of things within the club. Nancy is 1st Kyu brown belt rank
