Chito Ryu in Moose Jaw
In 1980, Chito Ryu Karate was introduced to Moose Jaw through Sensei Delmer Daignault. He opened the Moose Jaw Karate Club, a non-profit organization and commenced offering instruction in the traditional style of Chito Ryu karate. In 1999, Sensei Daignault turned over operations of the club to a senior Black belt instructor who has since relocated the club to Regina.
In February 2009, Colin and Nancy Rosnes opened Five Hills Chito Ryu Karate Club with the same spirit as the original club. Five Hills Chito Ryu Karate Club is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to furthering the art of Chito Ryu Karate in Moose Jaw. The club is open to all members of the community who want to train in the Chito Ryu style of karate.
Our club training and gradings are under the guidance of Sensei Chris Taneda. Taneda Sensei is a 7th Degree Black Belt with the title of Kyoshi and is the highest ranking person outside of Japan within the original style of Chito ryu
